Dr. Adnan AlShakhs (b. January 27, 1952) was born in Najaf, Iraq, and holds a PhD in Mathematics from University of Pittsburgh, United States, December 1984. He works as an Assistant Professor at KFUPM since 1985, and is a member of the board of directors of Al-Tahtheeb Private School.
AlShakhs participated in several specialized conferences like “Properties of some generalized metric spaces” at ICM-86, Berkeley, United States, 1986, “Σ*’-Spaces” at ICM-90, Kyoto, Japan, 1990, and “Relation between Σ*-Spaces and Σ*’-Spaces” The International Topology Conference in Egypt. He, also, conducted several seminars that were given at KFUPM, and King Saud University as well as at University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. AlShakhs is a member in scientific and professional societies like the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the Saudi Association for Mathematical Sciences (SAMS). He has some publications in print; “Σ*-Spaces, another generalization of σ-Spaces” Questions and Answers in General Topology, 9(1991), 61-79 and “Spaces with σ-hereditary closure-preserving closed k-network” Questions and Answers in General Topology, 10(1992), 127-135, and submitted; “A g-function characterization for X-spaces”.
He, also, published several articles in specialized scientific periodicals in Topology, and wrote about Islamic ideology, social issues, democracy, history and education.
