AlMahfoudh (b.1966) was born in Saihat in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and joined religious school, in which he studied Arabic, Islamic Culture, Jurisprudence and other Islamic courses. Since his return to Saudi Arabia, he had a prominent role in holding cultural and literary forums and seminars in the region.

He is the editor-in-chief of AlKalema Magazine; a quarterly cultural journal concerned in mere intellectual and cultural issues as well as Islamic thoughts and contemporary issues. He is, also, the founder of Afaq Center for Studies and Researches in Saihat, and a member of the Arab Network for Tolerance.

AlMahfoudh has written many cultural, intellectual and social articles, and writes a weekly article in AlRiyadh newspaper. He has more than twenty-three works; some of which are “Islam, the West and Future Dialogue”, “Globalization and World Transformations; the Issue of Development in the Time of Globalization and Clashes of Cultures”, “The Arab Reality and Challenges of the Current Stage”, “Political Reform and National Unity; How to Establish a Nation for Peaceful Coexistence”, “Against Sectarianism” and "Tolerance and Coexistence Issues".
