On Thursday, June 10th, 2010, Sheikh Dr. Sa'ad Abdullah AlBuraik visited Sheikh Hasan Alsaffar at his house in Qatif, East of Saudi Arabia.
This meeting focused on joint cooperation between the citizens of one nation; Saudi Arabia, with acceptance to sectarian diversity.
This invitation was a response to the radical campaign by some newspapers and websites in Alahssa, Qatif and Dammam to boycott AlBuraik's lecture which was delivered in King Fahad Center in Qatif although it promoted the march of sectarian rapprochement in Saudi Arabia. Many Shiite religious leaders as well as intellectuals and prominent public figures from both sects attended this meeting.
Sheikh Alsaffar thanked Sheikh AlBuraik for accepting his invitation and welcomed the attendants. He emphasized the significance of communication, citizenship and spreading the culture of tolerance.
AlBuraik indicated that such invitations bridge the gaps between citizens. He declared that they are for the nation's interest and promote solidarity and harmony. He stressed the importance of coexistence which he considered a national necessity.
Dr. AbdulAziz Qasim, a prominent Sunni intellectual, condemned the incitement against Sheikh AlBuraik, and said that such radical actions must be restrained.
