Qatif Achievement Award Carries Out Its Second Annual Celebration

In the evening of Friday, May 28th, 2010, Qatif community honored twelve distinctive individuals out of 180 candidates from both genders in its second annual celebration which was attended by many prominent Saudi figures. The award, which is a bestowal of honor and ten-thousands riyals ($2666), is granted to each winner that had accomplished an achievement in one of six major fields; which are  inventions and technology, administration and economy, culture and though, scientific research, literature and arts.

Qatif Achievement Award, which is the idea of Sa'eed Alkhabbaz, a prominent social activist from Qatif, and which is sponsored by Saudi businessmen and public figures, is for honoring creative individuals in certain fields in Qatif's community. This initiative seeks encouraging people; especially the youth, in order to develop their talents and push them forward to achieve international levels.

The celebration, which was carried out in King Abdullah bin AbdulAziz Hall, was attended by various significant public figures like Princess Ghada Al Saud, Najeeb AlZamil who is a member in the Consultative Council as well as Issa AlAnsari who is the Director of Prince Mohammad bin Fahad Al Saud University, Dr. AbdulRahman AlMudaires, the Director-General of Education in Eastern Province, and many other prominent Saudi intellectuals and leaders.

Jubreel AlBishi and Mariam AlOqaili were honored and awarded for their contributions in the field of inventions and technology whereas Muwafaq AlMajed and Roqayah Ajjaj were awarded the prize of administration and economy field.

Husain Bazbouz and Happy Home Center were declared as the winners of the prize for the branch of culture and though. Moreover, the awards for scientific research branch were given to Hani Al Isma'eel and Radhiah Al Abbas.

For the branch of literature, Ali Sulais and Amal AlFaraj were granted the award while Amjed AlSinan and Zahra AlMadlouh had won the prize dedicated for arts field.
